PGL Major Krakow 2017
Group Stage
Information
The next CS:GO major will be held in Krakow, Poland by PGL, this will be the first PGL Major of CS:GO. The groups will be played backstage while the playoffs will be played in the Tauron Arena Krakow.
The prize pool of the event is $1,000,000 (USD) and the eight teams that made it to playoffs at the ELEAGUE Major has recieved a direct invite to PGL Major Krakow.
To fill up the roster for the event there will be four minors leading up to the event, Asia Minor, Americas Minor, CIS Minor and Europe Minor. Each Minor Championship winner will join the eight bottom teams from the ELEAGUE Major in the offline qualifiers to battle for a spot in the major.
Format
There will be a series of qualifiers including the minor tournaments that will decide the teams that will play in the offline qualifier. The format for these qualifiers will vary from region to region.
Offline qualifier: Sixteen teams, eight that finished in the bottom half of the previous major (Atlanta 2017) and eight teams from the minors. Teams will only keep their spot if they field a minimum of three players from the previous major.
The offline qualifier will be played out using a swiss format with Best-of-One matches.
Main Event: The main event will start with a 5-round swiss group stage with best-of-one matches where the teams with 3 wins will advance to the playoffs.
The playoffs will feature a single-elimination bracket with best-of-three matches.
