Information
This year the Intel Extreme Masters Fall XVI will start its new season and it is the longest-running global pro gaming tour in the world which was started in 2006 by ESL Summer and is operated as part of ESL by ESL Gaming GmbH. The competition features the world's best gamers in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, StarCraft® II, and other esports titles. With IEM having over a decade of history, it is widely considered one of the most prestigious and traditional events in the world with a tremendous prize pool of $250,000 to be given away in this season's champion.
Format
Group Stage will be played in double-elimination formats (GSL) and all matches are best-of-three. The top three teams from each group will advance to the playoffs.
Playoffs will be played in a single-elimination bracket (Quarterfinals & Semifinals) are best-of-three while the Grand Final is best-of-five.
