2020 ESL One Cologne is the most awaited tournament of all time organized by ESL, the world's largest esports company that is known as the great provider of worldclass CS:GO tournaments around the globe. This event will be happening at the Lanxess Arena but it is now transformed into broadcasted tournament due to the Covid-19 measures. The tournament will split into 4 regional divisions: Europe, North America, Asia and Oceania. For the Europe division, 16 of the world's best teams within the region are invited to this event and only 1 team can take home the crown as the champion of the season. The over-all tournament offers an enormous prize pool of $500,000 and for the Europe division, $325,000 USD is at stake.
Format
The tournament will begin with Group Stages playing in a GSL format, all matches will be played in a best-of-three series, and the top teams from each group will advance to playoffs.
Playoffs will be played in a single-elimination best-of-three series, except for the grand final which is a best-of-five.
