The time has come for the third ever Fragbite Masters powered by Com Hem LAN finals as Season 5 ends this weekend. A total of four teams have, in their own ways, qualified for this weekend's event in Stockholm, Sweden, where they will be fighting for 500,000 SEK, which translates to approximately $57,400. The winners will go home with just below half of the sum.
After that, the online portion kicked off, where NiP Gaming managed to win the Blue Bracket by defeating Team SoloMid in the bracket final. Then, in the Orange Bracket, the qualified team SK Gaming managed to upset G2 Esports as well as the Swedish team DenDD to deserve their spot in Stockholm. The last spot was up for grabs in the match between the two bracket runner-ups — Team SoloMid and DenDD — a battle the Danish squad won in a close three-map fight.
The Fragbite Masters LAN finals will use a double elimination format with best of three maps in every round. This means that the team who loses drop down to the lower bracket, while the winning teams stay in the upper bracket. In the end, the grand finalist coming from the upper bracket will have an advantage in the veto process.
