Hej

I apologize for my poor english in advance. Anyway... I stopped playing wow 2 years ago. I loved the game, but a few things i'm gonna mention made me quit. I would love to come back to this game in the future, but as it is now more and more stuff is added to the game that is keeping me from coming back.

First of all. When I read forum posts made by players saying they do not like the way wow is heading I see they are constantly getting flamed. Especially those who complain about the LFG/LFR tools have ruined the community. To me it's pretty obvious these tools among other things have contributed in making the realm community almost non existant. The opinion among those in favor of the LFG tool and the constant gear replacement seems to be that we are much better off with these tools. The community was already dead etc and who wants to wait for their loot? yada yada.

The analogy to these people seems to be that the faster and more frictionless the game experience is the better. Fuck the obsolete content dungeons, realm community etc. What is most important is that we get our loot and that we get it fast.

To me its not far fetched making a parallel to a kid wanting candy first every weekend then the rest of the week. The more the kid moans to his parents(blizzard) the more candy he gets. But is it as exciting to him? he doesn't have to wait for it, how can that be a bad thing? To me it's obvious excitement will die a little bit.

Maybe I'm a crazy person, but to me "waiting" is part of everything in life and is what makes room for contemplation. And it's the same thing in this game. You get time to think about the world you "live in" and the community. So what if i'm a dps class and have to wait a bit longer for an instance, as long as I can put my own group together or just do stuff on my own that is worthwhile it will make up for the wait time. Plus once I get to know the community a little better others will hopefully see me as a respectable player and invite me more often and see the benefit in grouping with me.

Don't get me wrong. It believe many things added to wow in later expansions are for the better(except for the way talents are heading). Boss fights are much better now and classes are more fun and interactive. But to me the community changes are almost entirely for the worse. Plus the constant flow of new content/gear. What is the point of that?

Can anyone explain to me why the community is so much better now? Or if its not better what makes you keep playing?

Thank you
