[README] This guide will help you boost performance in counter-strike ver. 1.6 and i will garanty a performance boost of mayby 20-70% than before.

Just follow the steps that is in order with numbers 1-10 and in the end there are FAQ.

Okay so lets begin->

Fixing your internet connection is the most important thing if you want to play cs without any lag so here are a few steps how you do it

1.

Connection (Ping):
Control Panel > Network Settings:
Protocols needed for internet:TCP/IP,Client for Microsoft networks,QoS Packet Scheduler (XP only)
uninstall weird protocols.

2.

20% of bandwidth (internet speed) is reserved for system in Windows XP,
to remove it do this:
start menu > run > gpedit.msc
Local Computer Policy > Administrative Templates > Network > QOS Packet Scheduler
double-click the limit reservable bandwidth setting
set it to enable and set to 0%

3.

performance:
Anisotropy/Antialiasing are features that improve quality, if u dont have some expesnsive 3D Card
disable it, (more Quality = less FPS) sometimes u dont notice the quality, i recommending to disable these features
if u got cheap versions of 3D cards such as Geforce 4 440 MX

4.

Its important too if you dont have much ram size to have so few programs running as possible when you play. Also a low requirement antivirus is a + ;)

Here are 2 antivirus that i prefer

AVG free v7.5
nod32 ver 2.7

VIRUS/Spyware! can cause your hardware to perform slow actions by taking up cpu and internet bandwith to send information to directed location throw your connection.
Download these following programs and save the "how to use" information.

Smitfraud removal from bleepingcomputer.com
Malwarebytes anti removal from bleepingcomputer.com
SDFix from bleepingcomputer.com

Run these 3 programs and i can garranty that your computer now is completely virus/spyware free. Now you can move on to next step.

6. If you are running wrong version of graphic card driver your graphic card could perform less performance than it schould. The best way to find out what driver fits your card best is to test them all, could take time but when i got the right driver for my graphic card my fps went from minimal 27fps in some places up to 100fps constant.

- so start with

uninstall old nvidia driver in "normal mode" and reboot into "safe mode" (f8)when computer starts.

Log in as the "user" that you uninstalled the old driver from etc "dell" not! "administrator"


install "driver cleaner pro" and-
select "nvidia".
Run the "cab cleaner"

'also
run "driver clean" with "nvidia checked in window [X] "nvidia" "start"

"finnished"
Close "driver cleaner pro" and-


Install the new driver that for me was Z-tweaked gaming driver and reboot into "normal mode". Now the new graphic driver is completely installed.



Before you can play there are a few more steps....

7. Download and install "CCleaner" from pcforalla homesite version 2.0.4 you can manually update the program later but for now it only requires this version.

Open "CCleaner" and go to "options" /settings and "change remove mehtod" to ( gutman 35 ) click "apply" and clean your tempory files.

8. Download "DUstbUsterXp" from hirens boot cd homesite / downloads-> install it and run it it will do everything automatically so you just haft to press "dustbusterxp icon" and wait.

9. Perform a "Defragmentation" of your harddrive by pressing Start->all programs->Accesories->Su stem Tools "Disk Defragmentor". This process could take up to 4h so be patient.

10. A FEW More tips how to improove fps.

download highfps playermodels blockhead or ballhead the blockhead has less polygons and gives more fps.

Also change the windows xp desktop theme to old style by ->

rightclick on my computer->properities->a dvanced->underperformance " settings"-> adjust for best performance [X]" apply


you can also add these commands in userconfig exept my commands :

gl_max_size 32/64/128/256/512/768/1024 standard (512)
gl_round_down 1-3 the higher the number the more performance standard (3)
gl_keeptjunctions 0-3 set to lower number to gain more performance standard (1)

gl_nearest_mipmap_nearest - ok
gl_linear_mipmap_nearest - good (standard)
gl_nearest_mipmap_linear - better
gl_linear_mipmap_ linear - best

You should now notice a difference in performance (fps - frames per seconds ). When i first did this i noticed a apply of +60fps.

A. I cant find DustbusterXP ?
answear: http://www.hiren.info/download s/freeware-tools/1 copy and paste in your internet browser , scroll down to aboat the half site and you will find it.

B. I cant find a antivirus like someone in this guide ?
answear: probly because the antivirus main site has updated their versions. Just ignore this version i use in this guide and install the newest version that is avaible.

C. I get Blackscreen after uninstalled graphic drivers ?
answear: you probably uninstalled the graphic driver wrong or uninstalled it when you was logged onto the computer as "administrator". In this case try reboot and take "last settings that worked" on the boot meny that is f8 when windows starts..

D. I followed the guide but cant get 100fps anyway :/
answear: well this guide was made for computers that have the requirements to play the game and if your computer dont match the requirements its not much i can do.

E. I cant change "Mode" from software to OpenGl why?
answear: make sure that you are using the right graphic drivers to your graphic card that are explained in step 6.

F. I cant find the highfps models?

G. I cant find the spyware/malware remove programs ?
