How do you guys usually exit trades without taking a big loss?

So I’ve been thinking a lot about exit strategies lately. Everyone talks about when to buy, but not enough about when to sell.

For example, I was holding a bunch of AK Slate crafts I picked up during the summer hype. At first they went up a bit, but then prices started sliding. I didn’t want to panic sell on Steam and lose 15% to fees. Instead, I tested listing a few on third-party sites just to see how liquid they are outside the Steam market. Surprisingly, some skins actually move faster there — especially when people are using them as “swap” value.

One thing I noticed on Shadowpay (I’m sure a lot of you use similar platforms) is that the buy orders tell a completely different story than Steam’s market depth. It’s kinda useful for checking if an item has real demand or if it’s just Steam pump noise. Helped me decide to offload half my stack early instead of waiting for the inevitable dip.

So my question: how do you guys manage your exits? Do you set hard % targets, use outside marketplaces to gauge demand, or just hold until you get bored?

Would love to hear your approaches.
