Vet att den är lång men läs :)

Once again valve screwed us 1.6 gamers by killing GIGA and other companies who would like to show Counter-Strike 1.6 in television. Are we really gonna let them kill 1.6 without a fight? I think not. If G7 could contact valve on behalf of the 1.6 gamers it would be awesome, but somehow i doubt they will. But i think everyone should mail valve and beg them not to kill our beloved game. The mail adress is gaben@valvesoftware.com and if you cant bother to write your own mail you could sent this mail that Nomad from HLTV.org wrote:

Dear Valve,

I am writing to you concerning recent news floating around on Counter-Strike sites, time and time again we hear how Valve has sold the TV rights to DirecTV, meaning only DirecTV can show “Counter-Strike 1.6” and “Counter-Strike: Source” on TV.

I do not understand this move, Valve has always been all about the gamers, and even catered to competitive gaming, by innovating and releasing a tool like HLTV that allow hundred of thousands to enjoy Counter-Strike matches. If the TV-rights rumours are true, could you then just answer me this, why is Valve so content on killing CS 1.6? The 1.6 gamers run Steam, get the update news filled with advertising, they tolerate the ingame advertising, they buy your new games, but for some reason you do everything to counter-act us, so my only question is this, why?

We understand that you wish to sell CS:S and HL2 so you can make money, but why force it onto us? Create a great competitive game, like CS 1.6, and we will gladly buy it. Why inhibit competitions in CS:S and CS 1.6 by selling TV-rights to only one company, which in turn will only show their own league with their own special rules? Is it not in Valves best interest that everyone sees the game in TV? And even more so with the ingame advertising in 1.6.

As an avid CS 1.6 gamer, I urge you to reconsider the TV-right issue, let competitive CS 1.6 live on and make it onto TV if there is enough interest, not if you happen to have the most money to buy a TV-license.

I wonder what happened to the Valve I used to know and love, the Valve that created HLTV, that supported competitive gaming when everyone else was laughing at it. Where is the Valve that kept supporting an aging game because so many played it? There is a reason why we buy Valve and Blizzard games instead of EA, it is because you guys are the real deal, you (used to?) care about the gamers, and not your own pockets, why not anymore? I do not think we ask for much, a bug fix here and there, and open TV-rights for everyone would be enough, is that really too much to ask for?

Visa att ni bryr er om cs 1.6 skriv ett mail nu!
