Information
The Intel Extreme Masters Season XIII Katowice Major 2019 is the official 14th Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major Championship sponsored by Valve. The event is held by ESL and will see the best teams from all over the world competing for a $ 1,000,000 prize pool.
Four regional Minors will be held to determine the new challengers for the main event. The Minors are held offline in Europe, Asia, CIS and the Americas, with each event featuring a $ 50,000 prize pool as well as two qualifying slots for the Major. Finally a third place play-in event will be held for the third placed teams from each region to determine the two final challengers.
The 2019 IEM minors will be held in Katowice at the ESL Arena.
Format
Group Stage:
Two GSL-style groups with four teams each. Opening matches are Best-of-One and subsequent matches are Best-of-Three. The top two teams from each group advance to the playoffs.
Playoffs:
Double elimination bracket. All matches are Best-of-Three. No grand final is played as the top two teams qualify for the Intel Extreme Masters Season XIII Katowice Major 2019 and the third place team qualifies for the Minors' third place play-in event.
