I). How to do:
1. Run "Diablo II.exe" with argument "-multiclient", also,
for better performance, i suggest you to use "-w" or other things
like "-ns" together. (You can make a shortcut instead)
2. Connect to battle.net,login then join or create a game as normal.
3. After successfully create or join, you will notice the
window currently on battle.net will not actually change into game.
It will change to the character select menu again. And at the same
time, a new window will appear to join the game as normal.
You can use that window to play game.
4. For the newly appeared window, after you quit game, that
window will disappear automatically.
5. For the first window that connected to battle.net, you
can do anything like normal. (The only difference is you can not use the
character still in game to login, the server prevent this from duping).
E.g. if you just want one game per pc, you can quit this
window (The game window will continue).
And then you can connect to battle.net using the same CDkey on any other machine.
or you can choose another character or even another account to login as normal,
create or join game, repeat 3 as above. that is, one CDkey to play infinite games.
(Or mean infinite account to login).
II). Some issues:
1. Some of the arguments passed to game create window will transfer
to the game play child window, e.g "-w" "-ns" and etc. but not all of them,
this is for better performace. also, window mode is suggested if you run
multi clients.
2. To run more than two windows, you at least need 128M memory.
I tried to run 4 games on a 128M, PII 300 machine, it worked ok, but 5 times -
all client crashed for low memory.
Also, more than 4 clients at same machine can easily cause network lag and drop.
So, if you want to login more than 4 characters, i suggest you use the same CDkey
on different machine to do so. And also, there is a CDkey refill program made some
times ago, you can use it to refill the CDkey without reinstalling.
