I laget vid nedläggningen fanns följande sex spelare:

Under sin existens har defusekids hunnit med bland annat en tredjeplats på ACON5. Laget har även deltagit på ESWC både 2004 och 2005. Båda gångerna åkte man emellertid ut i det första gruppspelet.

Både Luce och Apollo kommer enligt defusekids att gå med det holländska laget Champions. Champions har ännu inte gjort något uttalande om övergången men i deras kanal går det att läsa att man kommer att offentliggöra nyheter 22:00 idag.

After one and a half year of ruling the Belgian Counter-strike scene, Defusekids is laying the guns down. The reason behind this is that the team has been inactive for a long time, to this very day, which isn't acceptable for some people.

When we started back in 2001 with the clan Heat, our intentions were to build a clan which could compete at the Belgian top. From the very first moment, we understood we were dealing with real life people, and that the human emotions involved would probably be the most important and problem-building element in the life of a pro clan.

After a lot of changes, we ended at present day with a team that is known worldwide and has managed to lift heads and catch all eyes on us some times. We are proud, proud to have done this.. proud to have worked with a pleasant team which was friendly, motivated and driven.

Unfortunately, some people don't understand that you have to keep training and giving it all you got, to achieve another higher level. After a while, everything seemed to be obvious and all would be okay. here wasn't a single LAN party - by our standards - which we properly prepared ourselves for. We are more then sure that Defusekids could have become way more if everyone did his part like he should have. Yet again, this didn't happen. Today it is over and that's like a kick in the balls to us (u know.. painful).

So after putting lots of time, money and effort into Defusekids, the story ends. Yannik "luce" Bindo and Ivan "Apollo" Wuddhisukhum couldn't stand this inactivity any longer. They still see a bright future for them in pro-gaming and decided not to wait until Defusekids became active again. They are joining up with the Dutch powerhouse CEA (Champions). We would like to wish them lots of luck.

The loss of two of our most motivated players is more then enough of a reason for us to shut down our clan. How terrible this might be for the Defusekids Ltd. we just set up, there is no point continuing the way things are going. That's why everyone will go his own way from this moment on.

We are taking a break from the gaming scene for an indefinite time. The motivation that gave us energy to work with and for Defusekids originated out of pure friendship and benevolence. It's a pitty there was no real financial reward to this 2-year long adventure for us, although it was a commitment which we would never give up on.

Looking back on the results we booked, it's fair to say we can be proud of our work. Unfortunately the real heavy duty of leaders happens behind the curtains, and you will always be commented and critisized on that which is visible and tangible.

Should we have gone on with Defusekids after forced attempts to keep everything in one piece, we would have wound up 2 or 3 big deals from which Defusekids certainly would have benefitted. But it just wasn't worth it anymore.

The disappointment is huge, but then again this deliberates us from the heavy birdens and daily worries this clan brought on. It was an extra experience which we will nourish.

To conclude, we would like to point out that you can't reach any goals without working for it. Some people understand this, others never will. It's been real frustrating to us that some people take everything for granted. This happened in the team aswel as the management.

Nevertheless we had some great moment, that's why we would like to tank a whole lot of people.

First and foremost all the Defusekids players: Azra, luce, Bax, zwik, aLBa, N'DeeBook, apollo, and Spacey. Without them we would have gotten nowhere.

They did cost us blood, sweat and tears but it was all worth it. Also all the people that have supported us in all ways possible, led by our sponsors:

GamesNation, Softtrading, DigitalBase, Gamesplanet & Cyes.

And not just our current sponsors, but also companies that were willing to put their trust into Defusekids.

A coöperation with Shuttle(Barebone's) and Softtrading(Financial support and Gaming gear) had already been settled.

A huge range of people that offered their unlimited support to us, people who used their knowledge in order to help Defusekids:

We won't mention the bad things, and will keep the skeletons in the closet :).
