Jag letade reda på klanledaren GeisT för att ställa lite frågor om Infernums framtid och han bjöd på många intressanta svar!
GeisT
Hello GeisT, the CS-team of Infernum has decided to shut down and you were undoubtedly the most well-known CS team in Austria, are there any chanses that you can build up a team as good as the old one again?
Well we are looking at several options for replacing the team, but of course it will be hard. We have known that the current team had lost its drive for while now and have starting talking to several old friends about a replacement. What our new team will look like, if we find one I can't say at the moment. We will try and have a mainly austrian team as always and a team which is ambitious and friendly.
Why was it that ]I[ was the only austrian team competing in larger tournaments? Were there no teams in Autria that could challenge you?
That was the case for a long time but has changed in the last year or so. There have been several teams which have been very promising but almost all of them have either fallen apart or play less CS. I think the general amount of CS played in Austria has decreased and therefore we dont have much young talent coming through. There is also the problem of sponsoring which we still have to contend with. Being a small country, sponsors are less forthcoming.
Do you have a plan to change that in the near future?
We are always looking for suitable partners who are willing to sponsor us, unfortunately there arent that many out there. It has taken us a few years but I think we have a nice package to offer a new team. Now we just need to find one! :D
Will you be looking to puzzle together a team of the most strong individuals or recruit an already established team?
Both versions have been considered. The problem with a mix and match team is that they would need some time to find each other and there are several big events coming up which we would like to attend. We missed out on ESWC which was a great shame for us and we want to be back in force for CPL Denmark etc. So a "finished" team would be better.
Thanks for the answers! Is there anything you would like to round up the interview with?
Yes, I want to thank the players who worked so hard for us in the past 6 months and are leaving us now. We love you and will miss you Archon, Acid, Freeman, Nighty, Sati, Esco and Mdy!
