NiP on the new team

1
NiP was kind enough to do an interview with Fragbite about the new team. In the new team Bullen and KF3 had to step down for face and Tentpole who both recently played for Begrip.
Before the transfer there's been a lot of talk about the transfer sum of $6000 demanded by Begrip to release face. Tentpole was not under contract.

The new NiP team consists of:
HeatoN
walle
miniw
Tentpole
face

Andreas Waleij

Did you ever consider buying face (for $6000) from Begrip?

Andreas Waleij (manager): No, I wouldn't say that. I don't think there's any player today who is that unique that I would pay any greater amount for. There are many unpolished skilled players to work with instead.

What do you think about Begrip's prize of $6 000 for face?

Andreas Waleij (manager): Personally I don't think you could expect such a great amount of money for a specific player when the e-sport scene looks like it does. Not before everything gets more organized, all teams get corporated and we have general agreements within the teams something like this could be put to the table, at least for our part.

Are there any flaws in face's agreement with Begrip, or will he simply let the the court decide if things will go that far?

Andreas Waleij (manager): Right now the agreement is between face and Begrip so that's something between them. Although, I've looked at the agreement and I must say that face has nothing to be worried about.

How is the team geographically placed now and how does the possibilities of bootcamping look like?

HeatoN: We are less spread out now than before so we will have no problems in bootcamping, because the NiP organization always take care of travelling, living etc splendidly! We will have our very first bootcamp now in the nearest three weeks at GP Söder (Nexuz) to get our game going as fast as possible and be ready when the next tournament arrives.

Why did Bullen have to go? Was it a joint decision between him and the team?

HeatoN: It was a very tough decision to let Bullen go because he's a good friend of us and we believe in him as a player, but at the same time we considered our options thoroughly and decided that this is the best solution for us to be able to be on top once again.

Why did KF3 have to go? Was it a joint decision between him and the team?

HeatoN: Actually it was only one reason why things went as they did. KF3 is awesome in all ways but there was one big problem, and that was the communication. Things just didn't work out with a Norwegian in the team, especially when KF3 talks Norwegian with a strong accent. It was difficult to understand what he meant, and that's really not what you want to start thinking about when you're in a tight situation in an important game. So we saw this coming rather soon when we played and understood that this just couldn't go on.

What do you say to those who think that the new team didn't really get a chance?

HeatoN: I agree that there might be something right with that, but also we all felt that we weren't as good as we wanted and that it would take a lot of time for us to reach top level – if we ever would get there.

What does the new team have that the old team didn't?

HeatoN: We feel that the new team will have a very good mix of individually skilled players. The rest is up to us and hopefully we'll be back in the very elite with the right practice.

What will the next event be?

HeatoN: The next event that will arrive, of course! We will try to participate in all greater tournaments that we can, including the bigger online leagues. Until then, it's just practice, practice, practice!

How is your relationship with the old players in Begrip?

face: I haven't spoken to them that much actually, just discussed some about why I made this decision. I hope that we will have a good relationship also in the future.

How does it feel to go from "semi-elite" to join one of Sweden's best teams in almost no time?

face: It feels really great. Feels nice to play with NiP, good people and to get to particate in some bigger events.

What can you contribute to NiP that was missing before?

face: Awesome aim and a hell of a motivation! ;)

Your reason for leaving fnatic was that you didn't want to travel as much, but NiP travels about as much as fnatic? Has your attitude changed?

Tentpole

Tentpole: I have a hard time believing that any other team travels as much as fnatic did during 2006 but sure, there will be some travelling. My attitude has changed some yes. There's been several months since I decided to leave fnatic and during that time some stuff has changed. If you don't consider how tough it was to never be at home for more than short periods at a time it was really great to travel the world with all the great guys in fnatic and I must admit that I miss some of all the crazy stuff abroad :)

How does your salary in NiP compare to what you had in fnatic?

Tentpole: I don't want to go into numbers but I'm VERY happy with the salary in NiP. It's possible for me to live a normal life with my own apartment, car and everything just by spending time on my hobby, which is really great.

Why do you think that NiP offered you a spot on the team?

Tentpole: Considering the bad result at the SEC qualifier they wanted some fresh blood in the team, and I suppose and hope that they wanted me because they consider me to be a skilled player. I have a bit of a problem seeing myself as skilled at times but hopefully I can contribute to an already good team with skilled players. Just wait and see how it goes I guess... :D
