Extreme excitement and nail-biting turn-arounds is the way to describe yesterday's opening of Group C in Fragbite Masters Season 3 powered by Com Hem. Results went back and forth, and in the end, some of them could be seen as big upsets.
Epsilon were the clear favorites going in to the game, and proved why on Cache where they picked up a heart-breaking 16-1 win. On Dust2 it all changed, though. With emilio back on the team, Property forced the map to overtime after being down 5-10 in half time. In the OT, they won with four straight round wins, evening the score to 1-1 in maps. Mirage was the map to decide the match. Property started off with yet another great CT half, taking an 11-4 lead. They then won the pistol round as Terrorists, and after following with a win in the first buy round, the win was theirs.
The results above mean that Epsilon will have to fight in the lower bracket of the playoffs, while Team Property survive the day and still have a change to advance to the upper bracket with a second place in the group. To do so, though, they have to beat the loser of tonight's first game, which is the group finale between fnatic and HellRaisers. The winner of that match will advance with the higher seed to the upper bracket.
Of course, tonight's matches will be streamed by the lovely Anders Blume and Auguste "Semmler" Massonnat, produced by our team at the Fragbite Studio in Stockholm, Sweden. We recommend everyone to join, because with yesterdays results in mind, anything can happen tonight. Join the hullabaloo at 18:00 CEST sharp, over at FragbiteLive on Twitch.
fnatic opened strong against Team Property
The first game of the day went no where near the description above, though. On Inferno, fnatic took on Team Property, and the latter were no match for the ESL One Cologne runner ups. As CT, fnatic grabbed a win in the 14 opening rounds, eventually making the score 14-1. Even though an offensive CT style was presented from Team Property, they never really made the comeback close.HellRaisers came back victorious against Epsilon
The match between HellRaisers and Epsilon looked to go the same way, but on Cache. Epsilon opened up with an amazingly strong defence, going from a 3-4 to an 11-4 scoreline in half time. The Ukrainian team then won the pistol round, only to lose the following anti-eco. The huge uphill battle seemed to inspire them though, and they actually made the comeback with ten straight round wins.Team Property upset Epsilon
The last match of the night was the survival-game between the Swedes in Team Property and Epsilon from France. The Swedish side had to play with Danniél "dalito" Morales and Daniel "rape" Börszönyi as stand-ins for Jimmy "Jumpy" Berndtsson and Joel "emilio" Mako.Epsilon were the clear favorites going in to the game, and proved why on Cache where they picked up a heart-breaking 16-1 win.
