There’ve been a lot of rumors flying around as of late. I heard things about smashing monitors, breaking pads, that we played so, so bad, and more.För att läsa hela pressmeddelandet kan ni kika in på mymTw.com.
Now let me start with this: Yes the result did not fulfill my expectations neither did it fulfill the ones of the players. I’ve had a long phone conversation directly after the game with Anders (Rwa) about the game and also about the different rumors.
First of all, we did not destroy any 3rd party equipment nor did we damage any. What happened was a slap against the monitor as you’ll see it a thousand times in any internet café or at your own home. Second, Rwa did crush his Icemat (he wanted to change pads anyways ;) ), but there is in my opinion nothing wrong with that as long as he doesn’t harm anybody else while doing it.
After such a loss against a clearly inferior team under normal standards, emotions can go haywire. And that’s what happened there. Just to make one point very clear right away: there won’t be any changes in the team.
So why the loss against M19? Yes I’m using an “excuse” here which ain't one in my opinion. What happened is that the CPL’s Strategic Partner in Turkey, only rented the ballroom at the Radisson SAS till 24:00 on Saturday. This meant that all matches had to be played on Saturday since there wouldn’t be a location on Sunday. Now we’ve played our last match against eXplosive quite early in the day. We had to wait now for the other teams to finish up. Finally late yesterday evening it was clear we had to play M19. The players went to the tournament area to set themselves up and prepare for the game. After exactly 7 minutes of warm-up, an admin of the CPL SP came along and said “Ok, live in 2 minutes”. So that totals a warm-up of 9 minutes total.
