Fragbite Masters will be back

Fragbite

Let's start the CS:GO portion of FBM Season 5, shall we?

9
The fifth edition of Fragbite Masters powered by Com Hem is approaching us quickly, with half a million SEK prize purse, multiple qualifiers, LAN finals and much more for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Tomorrow, Saturday the 5th of September, an epic 100,000 SEK match named Fragbite Masters Champions Showdown will be held at the Fragbite Studios in Stockholm, Sweden. That match, featuring Team SoloMid and fnatic, serves as a kick-off for the fifth edition of Fragbite Masters powered by Com Hem. We thought this would be a great time to present details on what the teams are fighting for, as well as how you can be a part of it.

600,000 SEK for CS:GO

The total prize money for our beloved FPS game in this edition of Fragbite Masters is 600,000 SEK, which translates into more than $70,000. A sixth of this sum goes to the Champions Showdown mentioned above, though. In the Fragbite Masters Season 5 main tournament, a total of 16 teams will fight for a prize pool just short of $60,000. This individual prize purse, and its distribution, is the same as Season 4. However, the format will be a little different this time around.

Prize distribution

1. 225,000 SEK (approximately $26,500)
2. 125,000 SEK (approximately $14,700)
3. 90,000 SEK (approximately $10,600)
4. 60,000 SEK (approximately $7,100)

Format
Main tournament

For this edition of Fragbite Masters powered by Com Hem, there will be no group stage in the online portion of the tournament. Instead, the online part of the tournament will be a single elimination bracket, with eight invited teams as well as eight qualified teams. All matches are played best-of-three, and the top three (yes, there's a bronze match) of this online portion of the tournament will join the winner of tomorrow's Champions Showdown at the LAN finals in December.

Format
Qualifier(s)

We will have a total of two open single elimination pre-qualifiers, where the four best teams from each qualifier takes one step closer to the main tournament. When eight teams have gone through the pre-qualifiers, they will be matched with eight "invited qualifying teams" to fight in a best-of-three. The winners of their respective match will go to the main tournament.

Stage 1: Qualifiers (Online)

• 7-9 September (Open qualifier #1 — 4 teams advance)
• 11-13 September (Open qualifier #2 — 4 teams advance)
• 28-30 September (Final qualifier — 8 qualified vs. 8 invited)

Stage 2: Main tournament bracket (Online)

• 5-6 October
• 13-15 October
• 3-5 November

Stage 3: Finals (LAN)

• 4-6 December

Qualifiers next week!

The first pre-qualifier will be held over three days, from Monday to Wednesday next week. The second pre-qualifier will be played out during the weekend that follows. The pre-qualifiers will be played through a best-of-one single elimination bracket, with the deciding round being best-of-three. Tomorrow, Saturday, you will be able to apply for the first qualifier.

That's all for today! More detailed information, such as invited teams, invited qualifier-teams, sign-up links for the qualifiers and much more will be presented in due time.
