The second day of the Fragbite Masters by Com Hem playoffs has been played out, with Virtus.pro advancing in the upper bracket after an impressive performance against the French Clan-Mystik. Both HellRaisers and 3DMAX have advanced as well, but in the lower bracket as they eliminated ENCE eSports and mousesports, respectively.
HellRaisers vs. ENCE eSports
The first game of the day was the lower bracket battle between HellRaisers and ENCE eSports, played out on Inferno. The Finns of ENCE got off to a great start, winning six of the eight opening rounds on the Terrorist side. HellRaisers put in another gear though, managing to claim eight rounds by half time.
The CIS-based team also picked up the following pistol round, and things looked like they were going their way — until Aleksi "allu" Jalli happened. The Finnish AWP player dropped a 40-bomb on HellRaisers, giving his team a good chance to make a comeback and win the match. Although, despite his 42-18 stats, he couldn't help his team all the way.
The second match this evening was the lower bracket best-of-one game between 3DMAX and mousesports on Train, a map favoring the latter, according to commentators Anders Blume and Auguste "Semmler" Massonnat. "Mouz" started off on the, historically, easier CT side and picked up the pistol round. Although, 3DMAX showed a strong attacking performance, managing to get their hands on a lot of rounds fairly quickly. Mousesports then stood for what could be seen as a small comeback, making the score 8-7 after the first half.
Again, mousesports won the following pistol round, getting a great 3-0 start on the weaker side. That was basically it, though, as 3DMAX closed both bombsites as CT in all but one of the following rounds, giving them a 16-12 win and advancement in the lower bracket.
The highlight match of the night was saved for last. The French Clan-Mystik went up against EMS One Katowice champions of Virtus.pro, and they had a tough time. On Dust2, which was the opening map, the French side picked up the Terrorist pistol round. Though, Janusz "snax" Pogorzelski of Virtus.pro bought a Nova shotgun in round three and picked up four amazing, quick frags, introducing the Poles to the match. Once again the scoreline was 8-7 in half time, this time in favor of the defending Virtus.pro, who also won the following pistol round as Terrorists. They then picked up round after round, only dropping two before the first map went in their back pockets.
Mirage, a map we've seen Virtus.pro play extremely well on the past weeks, was the second map in the best of three meeting. As we've all grown used to, VP opened with a strong lead and never really lost the hold of the game as Mystik weren't invited to the bombsites. The 12-3 score in half time, followed by another pistol round win for the Poles, was well enough for Virtus.pro to win the series 2-0.

Upper bracket, round 1The results above mean we are going to see a best of three game between Titan, who beat NiP Gaming yesterday, and Virtus.pro in the second upper bracket round. In the lower bracket, HellRaisers and NiP will face off in a do-or-die meeting in the same round as Clan-Mystik and 3DMAX do the same.
